DTF Film & Powder

DTF Film & Hot Melt Powder — Factory Direct from GNFEI

FACTORY DIRECT PREMIUM DTF CONSUMABLES

Achieving retail-quality garment prints requires high-grade transfer media and bonding agents. Our commercial DTF PET film and polyurethane hot melt adhesive powder are engineered specifically to work together, ensuring flawless ink absorption, clean powder release, and exceptionally soft stretch. The DTF transfer film features a double-sided matte coating that eliminates static, preventing powder from sticking to unprinted areas and keeping your margins clean. Available in both A3 sheets and roll sizes (30cm and 60cm wide), our film supports hot peel and cold peel methods for streamlined production. Paired with our premium thermoplastic hot melt powder (available in white for light textiles and black to block dye migration on dark polyester), your prints will achieve high washing resistance (50+ laundry cycles) and maintain high elasticity on cotton, polyester, blends, spandex, and nylon fabrics.

Frequently Asked Questions — DTF Film & Powder

What is the difference between Hot Peel and Cold Peel DTF film?

Hot peel film allows you to peel the PET sheet immediately after heat pressing (usually within 2-5 seconds), speeding up production. Cold peel film must cool down completely to room temperature before peeling, which typically yields a slightly softer feel and matte finish. GNFEI DTF films support both methods depending on your fabric and design needs.

Why should I choose double-sided matte DTF film?

Double-sided matte films are treated on both sides to increase friction. This prevents the film from slipping or feeding unevenly through desktop and roll printers. It also reduces static buildup, ensuring that hot melt powder only sticks to the wet printed ink channels and shakes off cleanly from the blank film areas.

When should I use black DTF hot melt powder instead of white?

White hot melt powder is the standard for most printing tasks. Black hot melt powder is recommended when printing on dark, 100% polyester or sublimated sportswear. The black adhesive acts as a barrier that prevents the fabric dye from migrating (bleeding) through to the printed graphic under high heat-press temperatures.

What is the correct temperature and time for curing DTF powder?

For manual baking using a curing oven or heat press (hovering style), cure the powder at 110–130°C (230–266°F) for 90 to 120 seconds, or until the powder has melted fully into a glossy, orange-peel-like layer. In automatic powder shake-and-bake dryers, speed and temperature can be synced with print output.

What is the shelf life of DTF film and hot melt powder?

DTF powder must be kept in a sealed container in a cool, dry place to prevent clumping from ambient humidity, giving it a shelf life of up to 1-2 years. PET films should also be stored away from direct sunlight and high humidity. GNFEI consumables ship in vacuum-sealed, moisture-proof bags for optimal shelf life.
